A pottery dipper cup with a squat hemispherical hand-formed body mounted with a tall arched handle. The interior is painted with a cruciform pattery and the exterior with various linear motifs.

Light chipping and surface wear as seen in the photographs

Provenance
Ex. collection: Dr and Mrs Rowland Campion (1888-1971), thence by family descent; the Campion antiquities collection was exhibited at the Australian Institute of Archaeology in 1972. Acquired from a 19th Century collection. A 19th Century label is attached to the handle: “Primitive Greek hand modelled 3,000 B.C.”. Dr Campion served as a medical officer during World War I, attending some of the worst action including Ypres and the Dardanelles.
