Cypriot Early Bronze Age pottery oviform jugC3
A mottled red polished ware pottery jug with a cut-away spout and oviform body. The vessel is decorated with four lugs around the shoulder and further lugs under the spout.
Cyprus, end of Early Bronze Age, c. 2100-2000 BC

Intact apart from minor surface chipping as seen in the photographs
Ex. private collection, Haslemere, Surrey, UK; probably acquired from the collection of J Wallace Craig MD, active in the 1940’s-1970’s. The collection identified and authenticated in the early 1980’s by B F Cook, Keeper of Greek and Roman Antiquities at the British Museum.
