A large black-on-red ware pottery bowl with painted decoration consisting of a frieze of concentric circles above numerous fine linear bands.

Cyprus, Early Iron Age, Cypro-Archaic, c. 750-600 BC
Size
13 x 24.5 cms
Condition
Intact as shown, a small ancient firing crack on the rim with associated minor loss to the surface slip (seen as a small pale patch on the rim)
Provenance
Ex. collection: Mr and Mrs. Healey, Chaucer Lodge, Chaucer Road, Canterbury, UK; acquired mid 20th Century and thence by descent. A photocopy of a letter dated 1972 from the Royal Museum and Public Library, Canterbury, briefly describing this vessel and other antiquities from the same collection accompanies the item.

Egyptian sandals

The sandals have just arrived thank you. Unfortunately they don’t fit me so I have put them in my display cabinet where they look amazing along with the rest of my antiquities. Once again thank you and happy Christmas to you both.
