A blue glazed faience fragment with moulded and black painted decoration in the form of an ibex head. Probably a finial from a large faience vessel.
Egypt, late 18th Dynasty, possibly Amarna, 14th Century BC

Ex. collection: C. R. Stone, UK; acquired around Heliopolis in Egypt during the early 1940’s. Mr. Stone was attached to the intelligence division of the Royal Air Force and based in Egypt for a large part of World War II.
