A carved serpentine amulet in the form of a rectangular stamp seal. Amulets such as this were placed in mummy wrappings over the hand of the deceased and symbolised power over property.

Ex. collection: John Ingels, Leksand, Sweden (1925-2016), thence by family descent; acquired in the 1960’s. Ingels was a traveller and film-maker, producing “Egyptian Monuments” in 1962 with the purpose of saving the Abu Simbel temple. His antiquities collection was exhibited on several occasions in Leksand (Sweden) during the 1970’s-1990’s.
