A large green glazed faience shabti figure with a moulded inscription on the dorsal pillar for the Royal Herald Psamtek-men. The inscription reads: “The illuminated one, the Osiris, the Royal Herald, Psamtek-men, his mother Ta-di-Neb-Hetep-et, justified”.

Psamtek-men was a high-ranking courtier to the pharaoh Amasis. The role of Royal Herald included diplomatic affairs, the communication of the king’s judgements, spokesman for the palace and numerous other important duties.
