Athenian black figure pottery lekythos with chariot decoration
G313£400.00
Sold
A black figure pottery lekythos painted with a horse-drawn chariot approaching a seated figure. It is an unusual feature that all four figures are painted with white flesh tones and therefore represent women. The standing figure behind the horses appears to wear a crested helmet and probably depicts the goddess Athena.
