A red figure pottery askos with a round body and arched handle terminating on a raised spout. Each side of the vessel is decorated with a rearing stallion.
Greek, Athens, mid to late 5th Century BC
Crudely repaired from four pieces, some small losses as well as extensive surface chipping. Numerous surface chips on the black areas have been over-painted, the horse decoration is unaffected apart from the lower rear legs of one horse which are lost due to surface chipping.
