Available

A black figure pottery lekythos decorated with Perseus pursuing the gorgon Medusa. The hero is shown chasing the gorgon from the left and Medusa is depicted as a large winged monster with an over-sized fearsome head.

Despite the popularity of Medusa’s decapitated head in art as an apotropaic totem, depictions of the myth itself are relatively rare.
