An unusual hollow votive pottery offering in the form of a circular pyxis standing on three lion’s paw feet. The tondo of the pseudo-lid is moulded with a depiction of the Third Labour of Herakles, the capture of the Ceryneian “Golden” Hind.

Condition
Surface wear and chipping, a repair to the lower body and also two of the legs. The surface would originally have been brightly painted and only the underlying white slip remains.
