A black glazed pottery epichysis with a spool shaped body and tall handle.
Either side of the spout is decorated with a roundel moulded as a Classical head. The body is painted with red and white foliate decoration.

Minor surface chipping otherwise intact
Ex. collection: Count Ferdinand de Grasset (1913-2010), Chateau des Bretignolles, France. Acquired in the 19th Century and thence by family descent.
