An elegant red figure pottery hydria decorated with a profile head of a woman wearing a sakkos head-dress.

Greek, Athens, late 5th Century BC
Size
10.5 x 8.4 cms
Condition
Two handles lost, rim and foot chipped, general light chipping as seen in the photographs. The vase stands unassisted despite the loss on the foot.
Provenance
Ex. collection: Joseph Klein (1899-1987), New York, USA; thence via auction in 2013 to the collection of Albert Nelson-Santiago, Dixon, Illinois, USA. Joseph Klein collection number 1312 marked on a label on the lower body

Egyptian sandals

The sandals have just arrived thank you. Unfortunately they don’t fit me so I have put them in my display cabinet where they look amazing along with the rest of my antiquities. Once again thank you and happy Christmas to you both.
