A pottery stirrup jar with a tall pedestal foot and squat body with a false neck conjoined by two handles and a side-mounted spout. The shoulder is painted with interconnecting c-scrolls and the body is painted with linear banded decoration.

Ex. collection: Cyril Edward Nowill Bromehead (1885-1952), UK. Thence private collection, UK. Bromehead was an eminent geologist and surveyor who published numerous books, the former owner reputedly bought this vase directly from Bromehead during the 1940’s. Supplied with a short note regarding the provenance as well as an old wood storage box.
