A bronze oinochoe jug with a long beaked spout and arched handle over a squat mammiform body. The base of the handle is decorated with a lion’s head and fore-parts, an artistic reference to the Nemean lion pelt of Herakles.
Greek, Athens, late 5th Century BC
9.3 x 8.5 cms
Handle and neck re-attached to body, base re-attached and a patch of restoration on one side of the body.
