A large black glazed pottery jug with a single handle and round mouth.
The black slip and shape of this vessel imitates Greek pottery but the location of manufacture is revealed by the underside of the base which is typically Etruscan.
Italy, Etruscan, late 5th or 4th Century BC
Repaired from several pieces with some infill and restoration in places
26.5 x 11.8 cms
