Mediterranean votive bronze figure, possibly Sardinian
M28£1,500.00
Available
An unusual votive bronze figure in the form of a standing warrior or god wearing a short striated kilt with a chevron belt. The figure wears an elaborate open head-dress and the remains of a bow or stick is attached above his right shoulder. Lumps of lead are attached below the feet from insertion and sealing into an ancient base.
The flat splayed feet, long-limbed posture and detailed kilt closely resemble Nuragic warrior figures from Sardinia though we have not been able to find an example with a comparable head-dress.
