A brown slip coated pottery oil lamp with moulded decoration depicting a kantharos between two Herculean clubs.

Roman, c. 2nd Century AD

8.7 x 6 cms
Condition:
Areas of wear to the brown slip and a very minor chip on the nozzle
Provenance:
Ex. collection: Terence Frederick Stanley Mullaly (1927-2020), UK. Terence Mullaly was a widely published art critic, respected as an expert on Venetian and Veronese art among other subjects. During the late 1940’s to early 1950’s Mr Mullaly was involved in archaeological explorations in Sicily and Tripolitania

Egyptian sandals

The sandals have just arrived thank you. Unfortunately they don’t fit me so I have put them in my display cabinet where they look amazing along with the rest of my antiquities. Once again thank you and happy Christmas to you both.
