A fragment from a fine moulded terracotta relief depicting a standing atheletic youth, naked except for straps around his chest and arms. This type of terracotta relief is more commonly known as a “Campana relief”, named after the Marquess de Camapana who first published a series of these distinctive terracottas from his collection in 1842. These reliefs were produced in Rome to decorate the villas and houses of the Roman elite.
