A Grand Tour collection of 18 colourful Roman mosaic glass fragments mounted into an antique gold necklace. The front of each glass fragment has been polished and shaped into an oval domed cabochon, the back of the glass fragments have been left unaltered and retain the original surface and areas of iridescence in the pitting

Condition
The glass fragments are intact as shown, the necklace/mounting is in perfect wearable condition with a working clasp concealed behind the horizontal oval brown glass panel

Provenance
Ex. deceased estate, Toulouse, France; acquired in the late 19th Century. The gold mounting is not hallmarked but dates to c. 1900.
