A carved gypsum alabastron shaped unguent vessel with two lugs on the shoulder and a flat disc rim. Alabastron vases of this shape have been found in Greek settlements throughout the Eastern Mediterranean and Egypt though this patina and type of alabaster/gypsum is usually indicative of a Cypriot origin.

Ex. deceased estate, Edinburgh, Scotland; acquired from a 19th Century British collection. 19th Century label on one side “alabastron”, later pencil inscription “605. 600 BC (???) Egyptian”
