Cypriot painted pottery warrior marionette

Available

A hollow wheel-turned pottery figure with black and red banded decoration. The figure probably represents a warrior and piercings to the top of the head and twice on the flange indicate that it was probably used as a marionette or child’s toy with separate moving legs suspended by string. The painted decoration is in good condition below a thin layer of dull surface accretion.
