Global shipping (including USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and China) is currently operating smoothly and with reassuring reports of fast delivery times.

Brexit:

Our deliveries to the UK and international destinations outside the EU are running well and only subject to localised Covid-related delays.

EU deliveries are still subject to post-Brexit Customs delays. Deliveries are arriving within 5-10 working days to most EU destinations. However, longer Customs delays have been reported in Spain, Italy, Greece and Sweden. The UK-EU delivery situation seems to be improving but not to all destinations. If you live within the EU please remember and anticipate that Customs/tax charges may be applied to your purchase, please feel free to contact us for further information.

Currently postal services are experiencing some delays due to Covid, this seems to be fairly random and localised.

Brexit:

NON-EU deliveries: Parcels being sent to clients outside of the EU are proceeding as normal (subject to local Covid issues).

EU deliveries are suffering delays and Customs problems caused by new Brexit regulations.

If you are an EU client and not sure of the new UK/EU import regulations please feel free to contact us before placing an order.

Import taxes are now applied to UK parcels entering the EU, we will try to the very best of our ability to minimise inconvenience to our clients whenever possible.

We sincerely hope the UK/EU import/export regime will be simplified in time as more businesses across Europe highlight serious issues and delays at government level.

EU / BREXIT

It is a great disappointment to us that the UK has left the EU.

The British Government has failed to provide clear guidance to exporters and so we are still trying to assess the logistics of shipments to the EU. It is our understanding that EU clients will now have to pay import tax on any item bought in the UK, in the same way as they would if buying from the US or Switzerland.

Please be aware of this new cost when you place an order with us.

Furthermore VAT may be charged by your country of residence though this should be at the reduced or zero-rate for Antiques and Used Goods. These taxes are set by each individual country and are not the same across the EU therefore it is difficult for us to advise all clients at this stage.

As the situation develops (and hopefully improves!) we will update our page with any useful information. In the meantime we will do everything we can to ensure a smooth purchase and delivery process to our many friends and clients across Europe.

UK deliveries are operating as normal (orders are posted by Special Delivery or courier)

EU deliveries may be subject to some small delays but there are no new taxes or import duties resulting from Brexit. Any additional Customs documents will be handled by us and you should receive your purchases exactly as before.To mitigate avoidable delays we will upgrade to courier services when possible.

WORLDWIDE, Non-EU: There is no change from last year. There are postal delays to numerous countries at the moment due to Covid and reduced flights. To mitigate avoidable delays we will upgrade to courier services when possible.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch before placing an order if you have any delivery concerns due to either Brexit or Covid, and we'll do our best to answer your questions.

We hope our latest update finds you in good health. Like most people in Britain we're now two weeks into self-isolation/ lockdown, only the start in comparison to our friends in Italy, Spain and elsewhere.

We're very grateful to have a business among other things to keep us occupied, a neighbour commented yesterday that our garden has never looked so tidy... I think that he meant it as a compliment!

For the foreseeable future, our Monday morning updates will be smaller and contain a wider price-range than normal. However, we are continuing to search out exciting little collections and unique objects in order to bring them to our website every week.

Our website continues to operate as normal although international deliveries to some countries are now being delayed due to Covid-19. Countries reporting postal delays on 30th March include USA, Spain and Italy.

Corona-update 24th March:

For the foreseeable future we will despatch all orders using door-to-door collection and delivery couriers in order to avoid unnecessary travel, there will be no additional cost to our clients.

We are following all Government advice as well as applying common sense measures to do our small part to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. Although business travel is currently permitted we will not be taking advantage of this exemption unless absolutely vital and in combination with errands and supplies for our local countryside community. Currently, our website and delivery services are operating as normal.

 

Should the situation change we will update our website with relevant information and notify buyers prior to completing/sending any purchases.

 

If possible, we will continue business as normal during this crisis and hopefully provide some light relief for our clients and friends.
