A fine stirrup-shaped opaque dark blue glass ring fragment with an oval inscribed bezel. The bezel is inscribed “Amun, Lord of the Two Lands” indicating that it was made soon after the death of Akhenaten and the return to polytheism and the worship of Amun as the chief god under the rule of Tutankamun.
Similarities to glass cartouche rings of Akhenaten (see below) also indicate a date immediately after the Amarna period.

Fragment as shown, the missing ring shank restored in solid high carat gold (not hallmarked)
Provenance
Ex. private collection, Selborne, Hampshire, UK; acquired by the former owner in the UK during the 1960’s.
