A banded calcite (alabaster) bowl with curved sides and a flat base. The bowl has been carved in order to enhance the natural striations in the stone by producing decorative circular bands around the body.

Egypt, Early Dynastic, possibly Dynasty I, c. 3100-2900 BC

7.8 x 20.9 cms

Condition:
Repaired from three large fragments and three chips reastored on the rim
