A carved wood figure of a falcon with a finely detailed head and eyes. The base of the figure contains a dowel-hole suggesting it was originally mounted on a block or as a protective figure on a casket lid.

Repaired along a couple of natural age splits in the wood
Provenance
Ex. collection: Victor Emile Gabriel Chevallier (Paris, France 1889-1969) and Marguerite Jeanne VEREL (Paris, France 1887-1962). Thence from 1969 passed through three generations of the same Parisian family by inheritance.

Egyptian sandals
