A Kusura-Beycesultan type marble idol consisting of a rounded body with short pointed arms, a long neck and tilted head.
These enigmatic and higly abstract flat marble idols, also known as a “violin idols”, were carved on the Anatolian coastline around the same time as the production of marble idols on the Cycladic Islands. They appear to show the squat rounded body of a seated figure surmounted by a head above an elongated neck, the head either shown facing or in profile as this example.
