A pale brown chert hand-axe with a broad rounded butt and pointed tip. Reputedly found at Saint-Même-les-Carrières (Charente), France, where excavation of gravel pits revealed numerous axes and other stone tools until they were closed in the 1970’s.

Condition
One side of the point is chipped revealing brown stone beneath the cream surface
