Ex. collection: John Read le Brockton Tomlin, 1864-1954, UK; thence by family descent to the former owner since 1970. JRB Tomlin was a prominent malacologist responsible for naming over 100 taxa (groups) of gastropod molluscs. Tomlin’s collecting has enriched numerous museums; the National Museum Wales holds the Tomlin Archive of correspondence and shells.
