Egyptian fine bronze figure of Osiris
E36£1,600.00
Available
A fine votive bronze figure depicting the god Osiris standing in mummiform posture with a crook and flail held across his chest and wearing the Atef Crown. The eyes would originally have contained precious metal or stone inlay and the false beard is cast to protrude from the figure with a small attachment strut to the rear. Much of the figure is covered in minute chisel marks, probably so that the surface could hold a very thin layer of stucco which would have been overlaid with gold foil.
