A tumbaga gold and copper pendant in the form of four seated animal figures.

Tumbaga is the name given to an amalgam of pure gold and copper which was widely used for ornamental metal-working in Pre-Columbian America. The ratios of metal were variable but through chemical reduction and burnishing a fine layer of pure gold was acheived on the outer surface.
