Repaired crudely from numerous fragments as well a some losses and sections filled in painted plaster

19 x 8.6 cms

Provenance
Ex. collection: Marius-Victor-Ernest Dumas (North Africa and France); acquired in Tunisia between c. 1890-1920. M. Dumas was Controleur Civile (French colonial administrator) of the city of Sousse in Tunisia prior to World War I. This collection of Roman and North African antiquities has remained in the family for the past 100 years in the Haute-Savoie region of France.

I just received the incised Yortan vase this week and the Luristan bronze mace head a few weeks before that. Both are in wonderful condition and were better than I had expected. Thank you again for such exceptional antiquities to add to my collection!

I knew the Antiques Gallery “Helios Gallery”, and my first purchase was exceptional: a “East Mediterranean alabaster vessel”.
A small vase but of particular use, probably to contain make-up powder, having a conical shape but with a modern design, even if of ancient Canaanite culture. An exceptional and rare antiquity: fully satisfied with the purchase !!!!! Danilo
