Roman terracotta doll figure

A hollow moulded terracotta puppet or child’s doll with separate arms and legs which would have been articulated at the shoulder and hip by attachment with string. Articulated dolls such as this are rare, most have been excavated in children’s burials and it is unclear if they served purely as toys or also held a votive significance.
